As a clinician, Alex ensures clients experience a warm, encouraging environment to dive deep and evolve into a healthier, more holistic person. Alex aims to provide a safe, inviting space where clients are able to be authentic and open. Alex also believes that it takes bravery and self-love to commit to therapy, therefore, she empowers each client as they embark on this important journey.
Alex has clinical experience as a therapist in an outpatient community mental health program working with both adults and adolescents. She has experience working with a wide variety of clients, primarily those challenged with anxiety disorders, depression, body dysmorphia, self-esteem issues, and trauma-related disorders. Being a supporter of the body positivity community, Alex is passionate about helping children and adults find acceptance and a sense of home within their bodies. Alex’s approach to therapy is rooted in Client-Centered and Existential Therapy, while also encompassing modalities of EMDR, Attachment-Based Therapy, and Strength-Based Therapy. Though these therapeutic models remain positive for a lot of clients, Alex will ensure to utilize models that best serve each client’s individual needs. Alex attended High Point University in High Point, NC for her undergraduate degree in Human Relations. Three years later, she attended McDaniel College to earn her master’s degree in Community Mental Health Counseling. Alex is a board approved supervisor for the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists. Alex is not taking new patients at this time.
