Amanda is a social work intern under the supervision of Jessica Ryan, LCSW-C. She is currently pursuing her Master's Degree at the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work. She previously earned a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from the University of Maryland, bringing a creative and thoughtful perspective to the therapeutic process.
Amanda welcomes the opportunity to work with clients of all ages and from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. She believes every person has a unique story, and she strives to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can feel comfortable being themselves. Whether navigating life transitions, relationships, personal challenges, or simply seeking greater self-understanding, Amanda meets each client with empathy, curiosity, and compassion. Coming to the field of therapy later in life, Amanda understands firsthand that change can happen at any stage. Her own experiences navigating life changes have deepened her appreciation for growth, self-discovery, and meaningful connection. She believes therapy is a collaborative journey—one where clients can explore their experiences, recognize their strengths, and discover new possibilities for their lives. Amanda draws from psychoeducation, attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness techniques to help clients better understand themselves, develop effective coping strategies, and build stronger connections. She looks forward to embarking on the therapy journey alongside her clients, offering support, encouragement, and guidance as they navigate challenges and work toward positive, meaningful change. |
