Emaline (she/her) is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) working under the supervision of Jessica Ryan, LCSW-C.
Emaline holds an Associate’s degree in Psychology from Frederick Community College, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Salisbury University, and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Hood College. Additionally, she obtained a certificate in Thanatology, the study of death and dying, during her graduate studies. Emaline has experience working with clients of all ages, assisting them with a variety of life challenges, transitions, and milestones, including chronic illness, grief and loss, depression and anxiety, suicide, and self-harm, and the development of self during life transitions, among other topics of interest brought forth by her clients. She has supported numerous clients across various settings, such as community mental health and private practice, in achieving their overall treatment goals and becoming the best versions of themselves. As a professional, Emaline employs a holistic, person-centered approach that encourages a collaborative exploration of thoughts, beliefs, values, and emotions to guide her clients in effectively processing and navigating past and present life experiences. Her therapeutic style is influenced by Existential-Humanistic approaches, in addition to a focus on understanding past behavioral patterns and attachment-oriented development, thereby providing a comprehensive understanding of each client’s life journey. Emaline is a strong advocate for treating the whole person while fostering a welcoming atmosphere for clients to explore deeper-rooted issues in a secure environment.
