Frank (Franky) Pecoraro is an intern under the supervision of Jennifer Valenta, LCSW-C.
Franky is a passionate graduate student and intern at Anchor Counseling Center, where he is developing his skills in counseling and psychotherapy. His emerging therapeutic approach integrates person-centered, multicultural, and scientist-practitioner frameworks that focus on self-reflection, the development of coping skills for both chronic and transitional life challenges, emotional management, and collaborative problem-solving. Franky aspires to create a non-judgmental environment with clients that is informed by their individual experiences, values, meaning, and cultural identities, so they can explore their challenges and draw on their strengths to meet them. Franky will graduate with a master's degree in clinical professional counseling from the University of Maryland, Global Campus, in the Fall of 2026. Over the last year, he founded a small research team and led a poster presentation of their findings and treatment development for loneliness at the Maryland Counselors Association 2025 conference. Franky graduated from St. John’s College, Annapolis, in 2014, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts, with a focus on the humanities, philosophy, logic, epistemology, metaphysics, the history of math and science, and aesthetics. In his free time, he writes music and poetry, enjoys climbing, plays video and role-playing games, and reads.
