Jamie is a graduate student intern training under the supervision of Kate Sprague, LCSW, LCSW-C, CCTP, CIMHP. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at McDaniel College, with an expected graduation in August 2027.
Jamie currently works as an Assistant Behavior Specialist in a special education school, where she supports students with diverse emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs. Through this role, she helps children build emotional regulation and coping skills while collaborating with families and school staff to create supportive environments. While she has a passion for working with children and adolescents, she looks forward to working with clients across the lifespan. Jamie believes that every person deserves to feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. She strives to create a warm and collaborative space where clients feel safe exploring life's challenges. Her goal is to help clients build confidence, develop self-compassion, and recognize their own strengths. Her background in applied behavior analysis sparked her interest in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and the connection between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. She is especially drawn to trauma-informed and holistic approaches that recognize each person's unique experiences and the connection between mind and body. As she continues her training, Jamie looks forward to deepening her understanding of approaches that help clients heal from difficult experiences, feel more grounded, and move forward with greater confidence. She believes healing looks different for everyone and enjoys helping clients develop practical coping skills while creating meaningful goals. Outside of counseling, Jamie enjoys practicing yoga, hiking, cooking, watching sports, and spending time in nature. She also loves animals and values spending quality time with family and friends.
