Julia is genuinely empathetic with an understanding of adoptees and individuals with disabilities. Julia understands that adolescents and young adults want to thrive rather than survive in this crazy thing called life. She is an adult adoptee, a strong supporter of the LGBTQ community and has the innate ability to connect with people.
Julia attended Towson State University for her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and earned her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Counseling, at Trinity Washington University. Julia completed her clinical internship, focusing on trauma and attachment, at an adoption agency working with pre and post adoptive families as well as working with young adults who were in the process of aging out or have aged out of foster care system. The training and clinical experience working in family, group, and individual settings has made Julia become a competent therapist. Julia has over 5 years of experience working with individuals with various physical and developmental disabilities, including those on the spectrum. Julia continues to strive to become a well rounded and knowledgeable clinical therapist who is constantly learning and training to become one of the best. She believes that everyone has their own unique story and that we all want to be a better version of ourselves. The journey begins with trust and a safe environment. Julia is in the Ellicott City office Tuesday-Friday and in Sykesville Tuesday and Friday evenings as well as Sundays. JuliaMurphyLCPC@gmail.com Phone: 202-510-6080 https://doxy.me/jjmurphy |
