Karen was born and raised in Bedford, Pennsylvania, and has dedicated most of her career to serving the Western Maryland region. She obtained her Associate in Science degree from Allegany College of Maryland in 1995 and earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from American Sentinel University in 2017. In January 2024, she completed her Post-Master’s Certificate for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Karen currently has 30 years of medical experience.
Karen works as an Associate Professor of Nursing at Allegany College of Maryland. Most recently, she has worked with patients across the lifespan, but her passion lies in caring for children and individuals with special needs. She is passionate about helping others and aims to broaden awareness and treatment for patients with mental health disorders. Karen values a client-centered approach, listening to patients to provide individualized, empathetic care without bias. Karen is married and has five children and five grandchildren. When not working, she loves to spend her free time with family and enjoying outdoor activities.
