Kristine Deiss is a graduate student at Loyola University Maryland, currently training under the supervision of Elizabeth Higdon, LCSW-C.
Kristine earned her Bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Maryland, where she majored in Psychology. Kristine is pursuing a masters degree in clinical professional counseling at Loyola and is expected to graduate in December 2026. She currently serves as a Teaching Assistant for an introductory psychology course, where she supports students in developing study habits, strengthening organizational skills, and building confidence in their academic abilities. She is passionate about meeting students where they are and helping them feel supported. Through her work and personal experiences, Kristine has cultivated a passion for counseling rooted in creativity, connection, and support. She strives to meet each client with empathy, helping them feel genuinely supported in their personal development. She is committed to fostering a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to express themselves and engage in meaningful growth. By building authentic therapeutic relationships, she aims to ensure clients feel supported as they work through life’s challenges. She is especially interested in learning about various therapeutic modalities, including art, play and sand tray therapy, and is eager to develop a flexible and individualized approach to treatment. Kristine believes that effective counseling requires flexibility and intentionality. She is committed to continually expanding her knowledge and therapeutic tools in order to meet clients where they are and respond to their unique needs. Outside of work, you can find Kristine taking travel photographs, trying out new matcha, coloring, or spending time with her cat, Lily.
