Lyric (she/they) is a nonbinary LGPC working under the supervision of Jennifer Valenta, LCSW-C.
Lyric holds a Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Psychology from Arizona State University and a Master’s in Counseling with a Specialization in Clinical Mental Health from Hood College. Their approach to counseling is both eclectic and deeply rooted in the Internal Family Systems model, blending this with techniques from Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to best meet each client’s unique needs. Lyric has extensive experience working with both children and adults. She has supported individuals through a wide range of challenges, from depression and anxiety to bipolar disorder and other chronic disorders. They have a passion for working with the LGBTQIA+ community especially with those who have come out later in life. They are also an active member of the community by volunteering for Frederick Pride each year. Lyric is passionate about creating a warm, inviting space where clients feel truly welcomed and supported. She believes in the vital role of therapy as part of a comprehensive wellness routine and is dedicated to helping each person navigate their journey toward better mental health.
