Megan earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2008. She completed her undergraduate internship through the Title IV-E Public Child Welfare Program in the Baltimore County Department of Social Services Foster Care Unit. Megan was accepted into the Advanced Standing Program at the University of Maryland School of Social Work, graduating in 2009 with a Clinical Concentration in Children and Families. Her graduate school internship was also through the Title IV-E Public Child Welfare Program in the Sexual Abuse Intake Unit for Baltimore County Department of Social Services.
Post-graduate work has included many different opportunities to sharpen her clinical skills and advance her expertise in working with children, families, couples, and individuals. She has spent time in the Public Child Welfare Sector, Education Settings, Residential and Juvenile Justice Programs, and finally private practice. I have over 15 years of experience working with children and families, couples, and individuals. Megan specializes in working with Couples who are looking to improve their relationship, heal from relationship conflicts, and general life transitions that can lead to relationship changes. She also is passionate about working with Pre/Postpartum Mother’s who are struggling with postpartum depression and anxiety and helping them navigate all the stresses and challenges that come with motherhood. Megan’s approach to therapy is empathetic and compassionate, focusing on the whole person including the different aspects of their lives. Megan believes that therapy is not “one size fits all” and will pull from many different modalities to best meet the needs of the client. She has extensive training in evidenced based practices, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Polyvagal, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Postpartum Depression and Anxiety, and Infant Grief and Loss.
