Oscar Mejia, is a LGPC is under the supervision of Hannah Snyder, LCPC, LGPAT.
Often, we all go thought difficult times, such as times of despair, painful circumstances, and distress situations that many times affect our peace of mind and our relationships to ourselves and to others. Sometimes, we even question the purpose of our lives because we feel like there is no purpose on what we are going through.
As a professional counselor, Oscar's number one goal is to help his clients to experience holistic wellness (physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually). Working in coordination with other healthcare workers to assure the complete assessment and responsible treatment approach for his clients.
Oscar uses a Cognitive Behavioral theoretical framework which allows him to help his clients to explore and identify healthy alternatives to mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, Post traumatic Stress Disorder and other mental-emotional conditions. He believes that we are more than just our minds, working with his clients to explore purpose in their journey using an existential approach. He works in a collaborative effort with his clients which gives them control, freedom, and the power to change the things they want to change to bring holistic wellness.
Oscar attended graduate school at John Hopkins University and has experience working with individuals and groups. He is working on his certification in TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) for children and adolescents and is trained on Intimate Partner Domestic Violence.
