There have been many research studies that have documented the benefits of using animals in therapeutic settings. Besides aiding physical health, animals can also enhance mental health. Many people benefit from the unconditional affection from a friendly animal, especially during times of transition or difficulty.
Stanley is a 2 year old English Cream Golden Retriever. Stanley has an easy going temperament, loves to snuggle (if you'd like) and is always happy to see you. As a team, Suzie has found that Stanley's presence has significantly cut down time spent building rapport and engaging clients in treatment. Stanley is learning to notice when someone is emotional and makes himself available for a pet or a much needed hug. Please be patient with him as he is only two, and has some learning to do! Stanley makes a perfect co-therapist in sessions with people of all ages and will greet you with a wagging tail that doesn't stop until settled into session! |
