Kristen is a LCPC and Clinical Supervisor in the Sykesville office. As a therapist, Kristen creates an environment for genuine connection and growth by promoting open communication, honesty, and trust in the therapeutic process. Kristen prefers to be direct with her clients but also appreciates humor in sessions. She tailors her methods to the individual needs of each patient to enhance their experience.
Kristen is passionate about working with patients who struggle with anxiety, trauma, stress, and adjustment issues. She most often utilizes integrated approaches to therapy, pulling from techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Feminist Therapy, Positive Psychotherapy, and Play Therapy. Kristen is a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). She is also completing requirements towards becoming a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
Kristen is from West Virginia, where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Wheeling Jesuit University. She earned her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology at Loyola University Maryland. Kristen believes her learning and knowledge are important to being a successful therapist, so she strives to stay up to date on psychological developments. She also values self-care and encourages it for each client. Kristen maintains her self-care by reading, traveling, and quality time with her dog and husband!
